Prof.Dr. Ruhi NALÇACI

Prof. Dr. Ruhi Nalçacı was born in 1978 in Trabzon. After graduating from Trabzon Kanuni Anadolu High School, he completed his dental education at Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry in 2002. In the same year, he began his academic career at the Department of Orthodontics, Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry. He fulfilled his military service as a second lieutenant at the Ankara GATA Military Medical Academy between 2009 and 2010.

In 2010, he started working as an assistant professor at the Department of Orthodontics, Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Dentistry. He provided consultancy during the establishment of EMATO, a company located within the İzmir Institute of Technology Technopark. After leaving Isparta, where he took part in various projects and administrative roles as an associate professor, he moved to the Department of Orthodontics at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Dentistry in 2014, where he served as the department chair. In 2022, he was appointed as a professor at Üsküdar University Faculty of Dentistry in Istanbul, where he was also one of the founding faculty members.

Prof. Dr. Nalçacı, who has numerous scientific articles and national patents in the field of orthodontics at both national and international levels, has served as an executive and expert in national projects funded by TÜBİTAK, the Ministry of Industry, and other organizations. He has also provided guidance for doctoral and specialization theses. His academic work has earned him national awards, including the Garanti Bank Scientific Encouragement Award (2012) and the TDB Preventive Oral-Dental Health Scientific Research Encouragement Award (2015).

He is a member of the World Orthodontic Federation, American Association of Orthodontists, European Aligner Society, European Orthodontic Society, Turkish Orthodontic Society, Turkish Aligner Society, the Association of Freelance Orthodontists, and the Turkish Dental Association.

His areas of interest include wireless orthodontic treatment with clear aligners, multidisciplinary orthodontic approaches, early orthodontic skeletal treatments in children, and maxillofacial surgery (Orthognathic surgery). He actively accepts patients at his private clinic in Trabzon. Additionally, he provides professional mentoring to orthodontists through the 'Invisalign-Align Peer to Peer Mentor' program.

He continues his academic work as a visiting faculty member at the Department of Orthodontics, Üsküdar University Faculty of Dentistry, and as a consultant in the TÜBİTAK Health Sciences Research Support Group. He is married and the father of two children.
